Meet Samantha!

The Birth of SAMANTHA

Hi, everyone! Meet Samantha! A handmade doll that we are proud to introduce to you! Before you read about Samantha's birth, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my group members (who are AWESOME & Diligent).

TO NAMIRA Great job on the doll although you had to take it home afterwards &   spent time sewing her head to the body. =D Thank You!
TO RYAN :  Thank you, for helping out to sew the super MACHO arms & legs, they were awesome!
TO SHEREENE You were a great help with the dress & of course the sewing! So, thank you!

A few days ago, our lecturer spontaneously thought of this terrific idea; that is for every group to make "a doll", SO as you can see, Samantha is what we have come up with. For this project, the four of us made sketches of "What a female doll" would look like and from there, we took out bits & parts of each drawings to create an entirely new doll.

So, we're going to show you how Samantha was born! These pictures were taken along the birth =D And it was done within 4-6 hours.

  •  These were the materials needed for the first step.

Materials: Yarn, Pins, Fabric Scissors, Felt Cloth (Beige), Buttons etc, Sewing Kit, Polyester Stuffing & tracing paper.

(From Left to Right) Ryan [R], Shereene [S] & Namira [N] were busy measuring & cutting the tracing paper. =D
S & N were cutting the felt by pinning the tracing paper on top, so that we may begin sewing Samantha's body together. =D
(Left to Right) N & R were busy with the felt while, I (Vanessa) was cutting out the decorations for Samantha's dress from a bag Ryan kindly donated. =D

BEHOLD! After cutting & combining the felt, this was what Samantha's body looks like. =D

Meet RYAN! He was sewing Samantha's arms & legs! What a great fellow! (How many guys you know can actually sew?) =P

Here, S was sewing Samantha's dress & N was working on Samantha's face. =D

So, after all those long hours of making the doll, this was the final outcome ya'll have been anticipating!

After bringing it home, I've added the ribbons, glued on more hair & gave Samantha a pair of beaded MARY-JANES! =D

So, this is what Samantha's backside looks like. =D

We all had a fun time doing this and it was a great bonding time for us as well, although it was only for a short period of time. All I want to say is, we have done our best to create Samantha TOGETHER & no one slacked for this project. *All work was done equally and shared amongst everyone!*

PS: Congrats Ladies & Gent! We have succeeded in creating our first doll together! Thank you for your hard work, I know it was exhausting! But, I think Samantha is looking spectacular! :D
